Clearly neither Sloww nor Ben watched a single Eagles game last year with Mike Vick starting.

I just showed that, per game, Vick was the best QB in the NFL last year.

Clearly, you either don't read what's posted or you don't understand what you just read. I, for one, said Vick has had one good year as a true NFL QB.

And you'd willingly flush your investment? Look, his value is low at this point. Selling him now will not let you recoup what you've spent on his development. Vick, is a great trade right now. You took a zero risk gamble on a player that panned out bigtime.

So now, what you do is cash out on Vick, ship his ass elsewhere and keep your profits.

And I'm arguing from the POV of someone who sees Vick as having value.

Your argument makes great sense -- if your goal is to maximize profits.

But I believe the Eagles' goal is to win the Super Bowl.

And let's not act like Kolb is injury-free

What was Game 1? His 3rd career start? And he went down with a concussion? For all we know, Kolb is an injury time-bomb. He's played in like 6 games.

Concussions are not something that I would classify as being indicative of being injury prone.

Their best shot this year. Which means they aren't going to the Super Bowl this year. They've had him at his best and it wasn't enough. Why would it be enough now? They only just barely made the playoffs off a fluke win against the Giants. That's not exactly reassuring to me that he's going to take them to the promised land.

Interestingly, "this year" is the season they'll be playing.

They are putting their chips on superior athleticism and leadership, and taking their shot now. Vick is only 30; it's not like this is a one-year window. And if he can start 15 or 16 games (which is what this allegedly "injury prone" player did in the 3 years prior to the dog scandal), it's a good gamble.

If Kolb had played decently in his chances (76 rating, 7 TD, 7 INT with losses to Wasington and Dallas), it might be a different story.

I'm not saying the Eagles will win it all -- and actually, I hope they don't. But Andy Reid thinks Vick is their best shot, the evidence supports that view, and I certainly respect his opinion more than yours.

Ben is acting like Kolb is ironman or something. The guy has had 7 career starts. He got hurt in his 3rd start. That's all we know. We don't know if he's injury-prone or not. He could very well be or he might not be. We don't know. What we do know is that it's silly to think a guy who has had only 7 starts is somehow safe with regards to injury.

And really, Vick isn't as injury-prone as it appears. In Atlanta, after becoming a starter in his second season:
2002: 15 games
2003: 4 games
2004: 15 games
2005: 15 games
2006: 16 games

It seems McNabb was more injury-prone than Vick.

But superbowls? No. This will be his 13th try. Even Schottenheimer only racked up 21.

He's 11th on the all-time wins list without winning a superbowl.

He could jump all the way to 8th if he has a winning season this year. Behind Jim Mora.

Among those with just one or fewer trips, you have him, Schottenheimer, Fisher, Knox and Mora. That's it. Pretty stellar company.

Only Fisher (14) has had a longer tenure with one team. The Eagles have been very patient with Andy Reid.

Comparing 2010 to previous years, Vick has made impressive improvement.
Kolb has had several opportunities. Last year, he was the opening day starter and got concussed. Then he had several starts when Vick got hurt. Quite simply, he has not stepped up.

But apparently any data that doesn't support your dislike of Michael Vick must be deemed "insufficient."
