  • Eli Manning isn't one, is he? I'm still trying to figure out why Alby is such a suck ass of Manning's.

        • He loves Eli because he's a Giants fan.
He loves The Sanchize because... hmm, either he's NY-centric, or it's just basic man-love. Maybe he fell in love with him in his college days.

            • Doug Flutie in the CFL:
              41,355 yards 270 TD 155 INT 4660 rushing 66 rushing TD

              Henry Burris:
              37,547 yards 237 TD 142 INT 4007 rushing 51 rushing TD
              There's a reason I said 57k overall.

              USFL + NFL + CFL.

Sure Burris is close fo his CFL numbers.

              Burris is on Flutie's ass.
              Not really.

Dude! That's only because Henry Burris never got a fair chance in the NFL! He was on the Bears! I mean you know how bad they are at developing QB's! They didn't know what they had!

                  • I saw Henry Burriss play in Chicago. He was horrible. I mean, really, really bad.

Burris went undrafted in the NFL, and signed a contract with the CFL's Calgary Stampeders in 1997.
                    ...
Burris began playing in the NFL in 2001, when he spent several weeks as the Packers' third-string quarterback, before he was released and spending the rest of the season on their practice squad. He was signed by the Chicago Bears in the off-season. In six games for the Bears he completed 18 of 51 passes for 207 yards, with three touchdowns and five interceptions. He received significant playing time only in the last two games of the regular season. He was 8 of 22 for 50 yards and a touchdown against Carolina, fumbling twice, and 7 of 19 for 78 yards and four interceptions against Tampa Bay, for a 10.3 QB rating. While his passing was quite poor he showed better than average running ability for a quarterback, finishing the 2002 season with 15 rushes for 104 yards.

The Bears assigned him to NFL Europe's Berlin Thunder in 2003 where he performed respectably. Unhappy with being relegated to Berlin by the Bears, he returned to the CFL and the Roughriders
Gee, a running QB that can't make it in the NFL. It's like a template for CFL success.

                    • So let's see...

Like Flutie, Burris is a running QB... Burris was also a Chicago Bear... his CFL stats are not only just shy of and rapidly catching up to Flutie's CFL stats but they are eerily similar in the relationships between passing yards-touchdowns-interceptions-rushing yards-rushing touchdowns...

I'm just waiting for Ben to claim Burris is one of the greatest QB's in pro football history. The similarities, in ability, NFL experience on the Chicago Bears, and their performances in the CFL, are too strong for Ben, if he were to be consistent, to deny that Henry Burris is almost as good as Flutie and therefore, one of the best QB's of all time.

It'll be cool as a Temple alum to know that Temple produced one of pro football's greatest QB's

Uh, Flutie was a far better passer than a runner.

Flutie had 15k yards in the NFL. Burris has 2 percent of that.

I'm just waiting for Ben to claim Burris is one of the greatest QB's in pro football history.
                        He's not.

There's only 2 QBs with 10k yards for both the CFL, and NFL, Flutie and Moon.

New topic: Any suggestions for good books on football? I'm would like a book that go overs the various offensive and defensive schemes, play calling, etc. A book that gives a general overview of the strategies and insights into the game. Just got done reading Blindsided: Why the Left Tackle is Overrated and Other Contrarian Football Thoughts by K.C. Joyner, it was not very good.
