I must say I'm lovin' it. Canucks clinch the division, Calgary down to a magic number of 1.5.

NO shock on either account. I did the math in fair detail. If the Avs can win two of their last four they are in regardless of what the Flames do.


I have to ask though-- How did you arrive at a magic number of 1.5?

Oh and gang-- I am headed on vacation and am not taking nor intending to look at a computer. So good luck to the finalists and congrats in advance to the winners. I enjoyed it this year but next year I think I will limit myself to the two poly leagues (doing two more was too hectic)

Flames? They disappointed me too much this year. Yesterday was typical-- they dominated large stretches of the game against Chicago but simply lacked finish

Unless they get some crazy result (such as all OT Losses), three points will be sufficient to put them over Calgary.

This is the equivalent of 1 and a half games.

If the Flames win their last three games they'd have 95 points.

3 OT losses would put Colorado at 94 points.

And if Colorado gets 3 points (win and an overtime loss for instance) they would still have 94 points and the Flames could still get 95 points with 3 wins.

The math still doesn't work on a 1.5 magic number.
