OT losses are the only 'true' loser points, because back in the day you got nothing for an overtime loss. You know, just like in the playoffs.

Canucks lost to a fluke blooper, and a goal with less than a second in OT. I'll take it. I saw how they played against a lower seed, in Calgary and completely dominated them.

They just scrapped out a win against a higher seed.

Calgary has a winning record against Vancouver this season, and the last time they played, Calgary outshot Vancouver (and the third period was one of the most lopsided I've ever seen in terms of puck possession). As usual, you're out of touch with reality.

Apropos of nothing, my beloved Michigan Wolverines secured their 20th consecutive trip to the NCAA Championship tournament last night, finishing a highly-improbable run through their conference tournament as the 7 seed, playing with their little-used back-up goalie thanks to an injury to the starter. They crushed the #2 ranked team in the nation (Miami of Ohio) in the semis, 5-2, then held on for a gritty, exciting 2-1 victory in the finals over Northern Michigan last night. Without that conference tournament victory, their streak of NCAA tournament berths would have ended at 19.

Here are the key games remaining for the Western Conference playoff race. I hesitate to include the Blues on this list, but considering just how many games they have left against contenders, they could conceivably make up a lot of ground (or complete obliterate themselves):

Nashville and LA both appear on that list an awful lot; they could pull away from the pack, or end up on the outside looking in, even given their current position.
