Completely agree. Drafting and prospects are the way to go. That's why I'm so pissed today at what Sutter is doing.

Calgary Flames: The Flames made their "deadline" deals weeks ago with the Dion Phaneuf and Olli Jokinen blockbusters. If there's a disappointment, it's that some of the pieces they acquired in that deal didn't move today. On Wednesday, they made one of the best trades of the day in acquiring defenseman Steve Staios from the Edmonton Oilers for Aaron Johnson and a third-round pick. He's signed through 2011 at a $2.7 cap hit. Hard-nosed, puck-moving and a great addition by the Flames. They also made a significant upgrade at backup goaltender with Vesa Toskala over Curtis McElhinney, for whatever that's worth. GRADE: B-Keep on Civin'

I know what you mean... I was looking for "expert" reports after reading your take on it, and found this one in my normal yahoo sports viewing.
Many in Chicago were surprised we didn't make a move for a "playoffs" goaltender... And this expert gave them a B for pretty much standing pat.
You should check out some of his other "observations"...
