Let me go on record as saying I officially hate the 13-week season. Playoff byes are lame, and no consolation bracket totally sucks. I will not support such a system in the future, as it minimizes participation -- one less week of regulation, followed by a total of 5 more games in the playoffs. [/rant]

My condolences to the Mountain Goats, who were denied their shot at a playoff spot by 0.18 points. That's pretty rough.

Ben Kenobi, you are one lucky SOB. But congrats.

Rosters have now been locked for all non-playoff teams.

Lucky? I ran into the strongest team this week. Odds were I was in with a win. I only lost with a Hervin td with 130 in the 4th quarter. I call that decidedly unlucky.

I destroyed Jag in the head to head. This was simply the expected order given our overall performance through the year.

But of course it's all luck.

Could I get a little credit here? I was winning our matchup up until that last TD pass, JRabbit. Again, this is just luck correcting itself out.

Anyways, the two matchups.

Forte's Firemen vs Topeka Twisters.

QB: Peyton Manning vs Aaron Rodgers.

Surprisingly close matchup here, but the QB position goes to Berz, simply because he has the number one.

WR1: Randy Moss vs Larry Fitzgerald. This matchup will be closer than the projections. This one is slightly in Snoopy's favour, as Moss averages about a point less than Larry Fitzgerald.

WR2: Owens vs Maclin. I don't expect this to be the matchup. I expect Berz to swap in Boldin, and Snoopy to swap in Johnny Knox. I like Boldin over either Knox or Owens, so Boldin should win this for Berz.

RB1: Chris Johnson vs Jamaal Charles. Nuff Said.

RB2: Jason Snelling vs Pierre Thomas. Nuff Said. Snoopy has a far better run game than Berz.

TE: Jason Witten vs Jeremy Shockey. Shockey is one of the weaker TEs, so Berz has the advantage.

Flex: Knowshon vs Felix Jones. I expect to see Berz go three wide and start Burleson, but we shall see.

Defenses: Snoopy is stronger at all positions, but needs to replace Oshi with another Safety.

K: Longwell vs Robbie Gould. Advantage to Berz.

I'm going to call this one for Snoopy. RB1 is such an advantage for him, and with Rodgers playing well, Berz won't earn enough points to overcome the deficit. Snoopy wins to set up his matchup with Slowwy in the semis.

People here wanted a 3-week playoff system with bye for the top 2. Add in the fact that a 13-week season creates a balanced schedule in our 14-team league and it seemed the stars were aligned.

But the fact is that Yahoo does not offer consolation brackets in any of its 3-week playoff formats. Yahoo did not choose to include that factoid at the time I had to choose our league playoff format. Had I known, there would have been further discussion, I assure you.

So if you want to call that my "fault," feel free.
