Patiorts, Colts, Steelers I agree with as a top 3 also. I think Ravens and then Eagles are 4 and 5. Giants I don't think rank up there, they're not as consistent. Eagles are 5 because they didn't win a superbowl, which DOES count against you - I actually think the Colts might have been the better team throughout the decade compared to the Patriots, but the rings definitely have their say here.

Explain to me how the Ravens trump the Giants. Both teams made the playoffs 6 out of 10 years and both teams won a SB. The Giants also played in 2 SB's during this era, which the Ravens did not do.Originally posted by snoopy369 View Post

I think the Ravens' overpowering D is the reason I give them the 4 spot over the Giants. When you think of 'best defense of the decade' there is exactly one team you think of : the Ravens. Even if their offense wasn't always up to par, they were far and away the best D of the decade, easily placing in the top 5 Ds of nearly every year. Wow. Housmandzadeh was such a huge free agent only two years ago. Too bad the Bengals are kind of stacked now with TO and Antonio Bryant so they probably wouldn't sign him though they'd probably be better off with him than TO.
