How is that even possible, since the Lions were not an expansion franchise? They have only ONE playoff victory in 40 years.

Bobby Layne was the most important Lions QB ('50-'58). He led them to championships in '52 and again in '53, lost to the Browns in '54. The Lions were en route to another championship in '57, but Layne broke his leg near the end of the season, and Tobin Rote finished the season.
