I find it odd that the police in Alabama would be doing an undercover investigation over codeine abuse! I mean you'd think there would be better use of police resources... like arresting potheads

And I was actually curious as to how much of a dumbass Russell is, especially considering the stories you'd hear about the Raiders having breaks in meetings because Russell lacked ability to keep attention. I checked out his wonderlic score and
Russell is technically not stupid at all. He had a 24 on his Wonderlic which is the NFL average for QB's and corresponds to a 108 IQ. He's not brilliant but he definitely is not lacking in intelligence (which was the supposed big knock on him relative to Brady Quinn who had a 29). Maturity and things like that are his problem, not cognitive ability, even though people always seem to paint him as a fat dummy.
For comparison, Marino scored a 16 and McNabb scored a 14

If anyone's curious as to who the most intelligent active player in the NFL is, it's a 3-way tie at a Wonderlic score of 48 between Ryan Fitzpatrick, Kevin Curtis, and Benjamin Watson. Needless to say, despite their intelligence, none of those three are realistic starters.
The highest ever was a punter Pat McInally at 50 and Mike Mamula (remember him?
) scored a 49. It's almost like intelligence is a hindrance to success in the NFL

Revis wants more money:
Jets cornerback Darrelle Revis is prepared to sit out training camp if his contract is not reworked, sources tell the Daily News.
Revis is due to make $1 million in the fourth year of his six-year rookie deal, but wants to be the league's highest-paid cornerback, surpassing the three-year, $45.3 million extension signed by Oakland's Nnamdi Asomugha last offseason. Newsday reported last month that the Jets were willing to offer a contract worth more than $100 million. The deal would have added six years to Revis' current contract, averaging around $12 million per season, in addition to the $21 million he is already owed. Revis rejected the offer.
According to the Daily News, Revis is willing to violate the "30-day rule," which states that a player under contract could lose a year of credit toward free agency if he fails to report to the team within 30 days before the start of the season. Revis would have to report to Jets' training camp in Cortland, N.Y. by Aug. 10 to avoid that fate.
Revis caused a stir in June by sitting out a few plays during the team's first minicamp practice to show frustration at the pace of contract talks.Comment
