Does anyone know how Yahoo projects players point totals for the upcoming games?

Sometimes they just do not seem to make sense.

The points breakdown you can see on the charts. They estimate how much of each category a player is going to get, and then score him out.

Thanks Captain Obvious. What I meant is how do they come up with the estimates? They seem way off track sometimes. And please do not tell me that they look at the statistics and come up with an estimate .

I guess I was asking a different question. How accurate do you find the predictions? For example, they got Sproiles at 16+ points this week. Is that based on a great last week. Is it based on who he is playing? I sit based on the type of field? I just wonder because that number seems really high to me.

Same with Caldwell on my team. They project him for 12+ points and 126 return yards. He could do that but, he could just as easily get 0 or 20. 126 just seems like a huge number to project. Do they take the opponents special teams into consideration?

Kevin Smith at 13+ seems high to me and Matt Ryan at 27 seems low.

Anyways any opinions or discussion would be interesting.

Sorry, I wasn't sure you'd seen the breakdown.

I'd prolly swap Mewelde and Higgins in for Kevin Smith and Caldwell. GB is a very tough defense, so are the Vikings. Mewelde I was looking at hard for a long time. I think KC's d is total **** and Higgins looked ok on Monday. Reggie Bush is the real question mark. I'd seriously consider starting him over Kevin Smith, simply to avoid that Vikings defense.

What about my team? Do you have any suggestions?

BTW my son says to put Nate Washington in for Berrian.

The big question in my thought process was who to put in the final spot; Caldwell, Bush or Henderson

My analysis is that Kevin Smith and Caldwell are overrated, hence they should be swapped out. I agree that 123 is extremely high, and I don't see Kevin Smith doing all that well against a Vikes D.

Berrian is playing against the amazing Detroit defense. I wish the Bolts played Detroit.

I'd probably go with McGahee over Bennett. I know what your thought process is with Bennett since the starter is out but I'd still probably go with McGahee

Yeah, I can totally see that. I'm debating that myself. He had 10 carries last game though, and will be splitting the load with Rice. Thanks! I'll probably make a decision on sunday.
