Several searches have indicated that the Slingbox EULA explicitly prohibits sharing the device ID with anyone, though I haven't actually found said EULA yet.

You can't have like 15 people watching the same TV/Slingbox. But if I bought a Slingbox and installed it at my friend's house and watched it myself, yea, that's the point. No one cares who is the owner of the TV or the house the TV is in.

No, the cable company and the rightsholders care... either way, it's in the legal gray area that shouldn't be openly discussed on the forums such as to not bring potential actions against the site.

Besides, you'd be back in the 'sharing' area if you installed it on his cable connection. I assume you're not suggesting Ben buy his own cable line? But even then it wouldn't be permitted; there are lots of territorial issues in television, such as regional blackouts, or contracts to carry regional coverage.

Frankly I am not arguing you shouldn't do it, or that it's "bad"; I'm arguing that it's illegal, which I think it fairly clearly is (both in terms of my analysis, and in terms of Slingbox' own terms of service).

this just aint my week, 2 of my 3 leagues had scoring corrections/changes both to my disadvantage, 9 pts in my FFZ league and 3 pts in the team Def league. And I got killed by CJ in the other league

I know the feeling, Berz. Last year I won three leagues. This year, I'm 1-5 overall after two weeks.
I feel like I'll be lucky to win three games per league.

But hey, it's a long season. We'll see how it develops.

And I really don't know where you are getting the illegal thing. Especially to state that it is "fairly clearly" illegal. At the *most* it is an unsettled gray area.

That article is quite doubtful Slingbox is illegal.

It looks like the only statement from MLB is they think it is illegal and were going to "look into it" (two years ago). NFL didn't even say that much.

So unless you can produce some court case saying it is illegal, you might want to change your tune.
