      I'm back.

      Spaced sent me a very gracious PM apologizing for his absence and saying he's cool with auto-bapays as we've been doing them.

                    1. There are a lot of different strategies in play, some of which less intelligent in my mind than others.
                    2. There are 14 teams in play, of which ~7 have 'safe' QBs (barring freakish injury, will start that QB every week but the bye). The other 7 will need 2 decent QBs, in order to be safe if their first QB turns out to have a bad year. That means that we're at 21 'used' QBs already (ie, either starters or important likely in play backups). Imagine briefly what the #22 QB in the NFL is like... and then project further to #28.

                    QB is the most scarce position in the game - only four teams really have a potential second QB in play, and those are generally the worst QBs available anyway. Combine that with the importance of QB in this particular scoring system, and you really don't want to end up with the #26 QB in the league as a backup unless you've got a really, really solid QB. Admittedly you do, so you probably don't care; unless you worry about possible injury, anyway.

                        I think QBs have been undervalued for the past several rounds, so I did something about it.

                        Check out the number of QBs that had been picked through the first nine rounds when I took Hasselbeck at the end of the 9th.

                        3, 2, 2, 5, 2, 0, 0, 0, 0.

                        If QB is a position so valuable that we take TWELVE of them in the first four rounds, and FOURTEEN in the first five, there's absolutely NO reason that we should then go for four consecutive rounds without picking one at all.

                                I can understand that if you have all your starters locked down, but I don't see how the marginal benefit of picking backup QBs outweighs filling an open slot. You'll get diminishing returns.
