That's handled by the waiver process - for the first two days anyway. There doesn't need to be a special rule for it. Beyond that, it should be subject to normal free agent rules.

This league is set up for no waivers. But it's no big deal either way.

What happened to league members in agreement on a BAPAY assigning one? Or is it going to be 'Commish overrules every BAPAY?'

The rule is 'best available BY ACTUAL'. The Commish has been changing it only when people assign it incorrectly by PROJECTED. Not his fault that people can't read.

I'm tired of JRabbit overruling BAPAYs and arguing about it. I know why he put that rule there, but if he's here anyways and *****ing about it then no point to allowing anyone other then him to BAPAY.

DRAFT RULES (This is open to discussion, but we need to start somewhere...)

-Standard serpentine draft, 22 rounds.
-Draft hours are 8am to 10pm CDT (US), 7 days/week
-Time limit for each pick: 4 hours during draft hours. Players 1 and 14 get 8 hours to make their 2 picks on the turnaround.
-After 4 hours, anyone may issue a BAPAY.
-For the first 3 rounds, BAPAY time limit is 24 hours. But there will be massive public abuse if you hold things up.

BAPAY = Best Available Player At Yahoo. All starting positions are filled first, offense prior to defense prior to kicker. When all positions are filled, the Bapay is simply the highest-ranked remaining player, regardless of position -- within reason (e.g., no one gets stuck with 3 TEs).

Offensive Bapays determined by Yahoo's list, sorted for "Actual" (not the default "Projected").
Defensive Bapays are determined by sorting the player list for that position by Fantasy Points.

IF YOU ARE BAPAYED: You have the right -- within ten picks or 24 hours -- to change your assigned Bapay to any available player. (Players drafted after your Bapay are off the board.)

KEEPING THINGS MOVING
Since we have 14 teams, we really need to keep things moving. When you post your pick, copy/paste the full draft list and immediately PM the next player in line. Don't forget to clean out your PM box.

LISTS -- If you're going to be away, PLEASE send a list to one or two people to cover your next pick. You can also post notes publicly, like "Bapay me a LB" or similar.

Ben, STFU. This is the same post you quoted when informing snoopy369 of the 4-hour BAPAY limit. So you knew the rule. And you know I'm correct.

BAPAYs are not a vote, nor are they open to debate. It is not a decision; it is a purely mechanical device -- which is why anyone (who is competent to read the rules and click the filter at Yahoo) can do it. Including you.

BUT IF IT'S DONE WRONG, IT WILL BE CORRECTED.

Yesterday, an entire sequence of picks was fixed by other league memebers -- I was at the gym -- for the same reason: GETTING IT RIGHT.

There is nothing personal here. The rules have not changed and will not change.

Yes, there were some early-round debates. Because we want a competitive league, I didn't want to see anyone get screwed in the first 3 rounds. And duke o' york is without interwebs, so his picks -- at his request -- are "smart bapays." And guess what -- because I draft two slots from DOY and don't want any complaints, I have posted those picks for public comment so that no one can accuse me of favoring my own team.

So man up, take your little persecution complex and stick it where the sun don't shine.

Btw, if I may weigh in, BAPAY's have ALWAYS been Best Player by "Actual". So there is precedent for that.

Slowwy took the time to do the BAPAY, calling him incompetent is uncalled for. He was trying to help you out and to make things easier for you, then you **** all over him for trying to help.

Slowwy made the pick. I agreed it was a fair pick. No harm no foul. The only one with his knickers in a twist is you. We haven't been following BAPAY strictly. As you've said, we've bypassed higher ranked players for perceived need of the player, and perceived competitiveness. If it were a strictly mechanical process BAPAYS would actually be BAPAYS. Slowwy and I agreed that Braylon Edwards was the best pick you should abide by the decision.

This is why we've gotten into arguments before, this isn't the first one. If you want to say that slowwy screwed up, that's fine. Don't expect either of us to BAPAY anyone anymore. Why put up with that ****?

Have we accused you of favouring your own team? No. Yet that was the very first thing you said about me. You ought to extend the same consideration.

You owe Slowwy an apology at the very least. He tried to help and you got all pissy with him. Here's a thought, if you want other people to help you out, thank them for making the effort.

Any time someone performs an incorrect BAPAY, I will correct it. ANYONE CAN CORRECT IT -- ACCORDING TO THE RULES. Regardless of who is involved.

That includes my team. For instance, I'll be out about 10a-2p Tuesday, around 4-8pm Wednesday and about 7 hours of Thursday. Of course, I happen to care enough to leave a list. But if there's no list or instructions and my time limit expires, I fully expect to get BAPAYed.

With the drafting moving into the mid-rounds, I posted some very specific rules this morning, so now everyone knows the correct draft position and the correct Yahoo filter to use.

OK, I've vented publicly and have responded to Ben's multiple PMs. Can we please move on?
