I think Jack Morris deserves to get in, based on nothing more than watching his career from start to finish. He was a horse, a gamer, and dominant for years at a stretch. A guy you wanted pitching in big games.

A guy with a career 105 ERA+ too . That's 5% better than the average pitcher over his years. He had some great postseason performances, but a lot of great players aren't on teams that can get them to the postseason to show how great they would have been.

If you want to put a pitcher in for postseason success, wait until Andy Pettite is eligible. I wouldn't vote for Pettite either, but at least he's more deserving.

To be honest, it isn't a horrible pick up. 1 year, $5 mil. If he can return to his 05/06 form, it's a great bargain. If not, it's only a 1 year deal and $5 mil.

Plus they've already got Jason Michaels, so it's not like Myers will poison the clubhouse atmosphere any more than it already is.

Hey I loved Morris when he was on the Jays. Good pitcher? Yes. HOF? No.

Biggest snub IMO was Dave Stieb but then I'm a Jays homer so what do I know?

I'd argue that Stieb is very underrated (and was screwed in Cy Young voting in 1984 and 1985 - 7th both years?! WTF?), but he didn't play enough to really get into the HoF (16 seasons, but only 412 starts).

I still can't believe Bylevyen went 14-12 on a .560 team with a 1.51 ERA+. He's the unluckiest pitcher ever.

ARLINGTON, Texas (AP) — Vladimir Guerrero will now be hitting in the middle of the lineup for the Texas Rangers instead of doing damage against them.

Guerrero and the Rangers finalized a $5.5 million, one-year contract Monday that includes a mutual option for 2011 after the eight-time All-Star and former AL MVP passed a physical.

Here's hoping he doesn't fall apart now.

The Mark McGwire stories are starting to get a little old. So he got caught, it's not like anybody really thought he didn't take them. People are going to think he should be in the HOF or not. The Marris family can talk about how Roger's record should be the real one. The Feds can keep talking about how they new back in the 1990's... His interview on ESPN was pathetic, claiming he only took it for injuries and that he still would have hit HR's without it... ENOUGH.

He kinda already did (last season) . Though a 106 OPS+ for 407 Plate Appearences isn't bad... it isn't up to Vlad standards.

Felix Hernandez signs a 5 year, $78MM extension. Seattle keeps its ace for a while yet. They're having a heck of an off-season.

King Felix will hit free agency at 29. Dude's been around this long, is this good and is still on the right side of 25. It's pretty amazing. Now, so long as his arm doesn't fall off...

So the Tigers trade away probably the most beloved player from the last decade in the name of cutting costs, then sign an older player with no connection to the club for more money. Grrr.

Not that I'm opposed to having Damon. It would have just been much better to have Damon and kept Granderson too. grumble...
