So basically two points that help out my argument . Milwaukee is dangerous because they get to feast on NL Central dregs, and with their offense are in a position to make a little bit of noise in the NL Central race.

I guess it depends on your definition of dangerous

If you consider being slightly not bad enough to suck in a ****ty league, then yeah, they are dangerous as ****.

Here's the real reason Milwaukee is out of it:

1. They have to overcome TWO teams to win the Central. They are an aggregate 8 games back of the Cubs and Cards.
2. They are currently 6th in the wild card standings, 6 games behind SF and an aggregate 20.5 games behind the teams ahead of them.

With pitching that bad, the deck is stacked against them.

It means being in striking distance of a division crown (or, in other circumstances, a Wild Card). Teams have been known to get hot (Like the 2007 Rockies or the 2007 Phillies).

Wow! 2nd game of the Yankees-Red Sox series goes into the 15th inning, tied at 0. When A-Rod hits a 2 run blast to win the game.

I hate it that that A-Rod never hits his homers in clutch situations

Anyways, Yankees win AGAIN over the BoSox. After not being able to beat them before this series, that's 3 in a row and opening up a lead of 5.5 in the standings . The Yankees are REALLY on a roll, winning 6 straight and before this game, 21 of their last 30. And now Tampa is 2 games back of Boston.

Smacked indeed. I was at the game ... the HR landed pretty close to where his HR in 163 landed, on the concourse behind the ivy. Mammoth shot. 440 feet, into a pretty strong crosswind.

Too bad he couldn't have hit that last night (when the Sox had the bases loaded, no outs, down by 4, and failed to score ONE run) ... tonight they performed much better, executing properly (moving guys over from second with hits to the right side, getting contact with guy on third less than two outs, etc.), and finally remembered about that whole 'defense' thing...

Still pissed about Beckham being called out for interference though. Guy runs up the line on a drag bunt, on the dirt, MAYBE a half foot inside the line, gets beaned in the back of the head by the throw, and called out. Absolutely absurd call.

Oh, i'm not Hawk. If I were I'd be complaining about the double Quentin hit down the line in left that was called foul, or about a call from last week. I have a lot more understanding about umps making spur of the moment calls that are tough, in real time.

This wasn't a real-time fast-action call that they got wrong. Heck, they might have technically got it right, I wasn't paying attention to whether he was technically in the line or not (i've been looking for video, actually, but found none). I do believe that you don't call the game that way - so tight that if it stretches any more it will break. Umpires should stay out of the game unless there's a significant violation; running down the baseline in the precise place that plenty of other baserunners run down is not interference, and it's not appropriate to call a guy out on that account. The pitcher should've moved five feet over and thrown from a proper throwing angle; he'd have hit him whether he was in the line or not.
