Well, that clip proves me right, does it not? He actually has to put his right-hand backwards, so bad was that shot (Shooting straight through the middle can be a legitimate strategy. But then you should really shoot straight in the middle, and higher). Buffon just did what he had to do, nothing special.

Oh and by the way, I think Baboon would be a much more accurate name for the guy. God, that guy is living proof of evolution

Whoa! What happened to the Russians? before this game I hoped we would have to play them in the quarters, but after this game I wish the Swedes would have won.

If the Russians play their next game like this one, Russia vs The Netherlands will be THE game of this tournament.

There is a difference between defending as a tactic and defending because you are pushed back by playing the the two best teams of the last WC.

I have never seen a counter-attack team have a score after three games of 9-1.

Had he not also hit it with his foot he'd have just managed to deflect it into his own net instead though. Though I agree the penalty was a poor choice.

We (the Dutch) have no idea about how to defend, we are all about attacking. We are not Italians.

While I'd be tempted to agree, the Romania vs. Italy and Romania vs. Netherlands games seem to contradict that statement heavily (well Buffon being awesome aside). I'm not to say you guys played defensively, I'm trying to say that your defense was good and the Italian one crap.
