Maybe, but the Gemany Lineker was talking about (football, 22 players in 2 teams, a referee, 90 minutes and in the end Germany has won) is no more.

We had a joke(?) over here about Germany: when the ref whistles for the end of the game and you are 1 goal ahead, even then you can't be sure you have won before you arrive back to your hotel.

Back in the days those guys kept fighting till way beyond the 90 minutes, but nowadays?

Saving up for the finals is not very useful if you're gonna be kicked out of the tournament by Portugal in the quarter-finals.

They will really have to shape up to stand a chance against Portugal.

My favourite part of teh game was when Deco and (I forget who, some Dutch player) were sent off near teh end, and sat down together and started complaining about teh refereeing. Teh commentator called it teh "rogue's gallery."

A mindboggling penalty save?

Err... If I recall correctly he shot that penalty almost through the middle. Hardly mind-boggling to stop that. My sister could've done it. Buffon is pretty good, and he made a very nice save today, but that penalty, c'mon, any half-decent goalie would've gotten that.

Would've been fun though had it gone in.

But it hardly matters. Romania, France, Italy, whatever, Spain will finish them anyway.
