I think it's over. The Rockies' magic momentum was dissipated over the 9-day break, while Boston got on a roll. Now, as we get to the lower half of the Colorado rotation, I expect the Boston lineup to keep pounding the ball. I think we're going to see a lot of hitting in Coors Field.
Maybe Colorado can sneak in a win, but this series is not going back to Boston.

Rust, schmust.
All streaks end. Any time you get one team sweeping their series and the next round opponent going to seven games, you get days off.
The Rockies streak, like any other after a certain point, had a lot of luck helping it along - everyone getting hot at the right time, other teams making mistakes.
The Rockies haven't hit well in the playoffs, but their opponents have lied down and died, at least until they came to Fenway.
Gee, working pitch counts and disciplined hitting instead of swinging at anything near the zone or watching one go fat up the middle...

Shades of '04. The Sox went into the series with the kind of momentum that counts - the kind you get from winning back to back to back elimination games.
Maybe the Sox are just the better team?

Overmatched, yeah, but I don't feel sorry for them.
They're a young franchise, with some good vets and some good young players, and they had a great run. Winning the NL pennant ain't a bad way to end a season.
