Rangers sweep Toronto. Suck this.

Clemens is freakin' brilliant!
Every year he works less and gets paid more.
Yep... he's got it down to an art.

Why do I get the feeling that if Boston offered the same amount, MtG would be praising the heavens?
Kind of why I hate biased fans... after the 2004 WS win, Red Sox fans became as obnoxious as the worst Yankees fans. It's that old Nietzsche saying about looking into the abyss. The BoSox fans have become what they despise.

As for Clemens, meh. On the one hand it will be far more fun to watch him pitch than Kei Igawa. On the other, I'd have liked to have seen the Yanks win without him. The injuries really forced things, though. Like the headlines said after each Yankee pitcher went down, the Hendriks brothers must've been grinning ear-to-ear.
Unfortunately I missed Wang's start on Saturday. Odd that he was anywhere near to throwing a perfecto... he's just not that sort of pitcher (then again, the same thing can be said for several guys who have thrown perfect games or no hitters).
So for the time being, the rotation is Wang-Pettitte-Moose-Rasner-Igawa/minor leaguer (same thing?). By the end of June, barring further injuries (never a given), it's Wang-Clemens-Pettitte-Moose-Hughes, which works for me.

Hey, not all BoSox fans are one and the same
No, but I was trying to make a point .
I don't think that most Boston fans, though, realize that all of the other baseball fans out there, who were rooting for the BoSox prior to and during 2004, hate both the Red Sox and Yankees almost equally (Yankees get a bit more hate... but that comes with all the championships).

For a sixth starter? Sorry, there's not room enough for that ego, and at this point, starting a month earlier than originally speculated, plus transitioning back to the AL, what is Clemens going to produce? The worst early performers in the Sox pitching staff (Piñeiro, Romero and Tavarez) are all solidifying and bringing their ERAs down, and I expect Lester will do well enough once he's back in shape to pitch in the bigs. No need to hurry him, since Tavarez has settled down. Once Matsuzaka gets his stuff settled down, then you have a real solid rotation all the way through?
Where's Clemens, his paycheck and his ego going to fit in that? We don't have holes in our pitching staff and aren't looking at our standings vis-a-vis the Orioles and the Devil Rays.
I'll take the team we've got.

Naaah, we've always been obnoxious. But nothing like MFY fans, 'cuz we don't have that sense of entitlement or swoon like little girls every time Steiny gets out his checkbook.

We don't care.
