I'm curious which "real baseball team" we are talking about here. Because I'm not sure the White Sox qualify at this point of the season...

Let me fill you in. In the early part of the 20th century, the team was very young, and a sports writer referred to them as cubs. The name stuck.

The only thing that is required to make this thread into more than a Sox-Yanks thread is for the fans of other teams to post. Sometimes you guys do, and I welcome it. Sometimes you don't, and it's Me & MtG and Imran, the eeevil East Coast types that carry the discussion. We're fans. Sue us.

-Arrian. The Yankees and Red Sox interest me because it is the most storied rivalry in all of baseball. Yes, yes, you have Dodgers & Giants, Cardinals & Cubs, etc, but nothing compares to the Yanks and BoSox.
