(Nothing against Inge, I love the dude, but come on... it's A-Rod.)
Well Inge was originally a catcher, so move him behind the plate, Pudge is getting kinda old, so put him at 1st, and we can have A-Rod at 3rd. I think we've got a good solution.

I know at one point the Mets wouldn't have minded having him, but now the question would be where to put him?
The only option, really, would be to move Reyes to 2nd and A-Rod to SS, but I'm not sure I'd want Reyes to be a 2nd baseman again (he wasn't all that good there). And Wright is a very good fielding 3B.

The Tigers are presently tied for the best record in the AL, and are awfully fortunate to be so situated.
They are ninth in the AL in both batting average and ERA.
How are they doing it? They are second in quality starts, and first in saves. Their ERA has been artifically inflated by Chad Durbin in the rotation, and a trio of desperately stuggling relievers. While Maroth is a pedestrian 4.91 (though he is 2-0), the other three starters are all under 3.00 in ERA, and the three relievers with the most IP are also under 3.00.
The offense is in a bad way, however. Only one regular is above even .270 in BA (Polanco, .378). And only one is above .800 in OPA (Granderson, .904). Granderson is still striking out too much. Inge has been awful, as has Sheffield. Pudge hasn't taken a single walk. As a team: .238/.307/.376 in BA/OBP/SLG.
The offense can only get better, which is good, because Verlander, Robertson, Bonderman, Ledezma, Zumaya, and Jones won't be able to carry the team for much longer.
One other hidden statistic helping the Tigers: only three errors thus far, fewest in the AL. The next lowest is five; average is eight.
Hey now, a no-no by Mark Burhle (sp?) of the White Sox. Impressive. Only one walk - so close to a perfecto. Anyway, no-hitters are cool
Red Sox pitching sure looks good right now. Yankee pitching not so much, although at least Igawa finally managed a useful start. Thank goodness for the bullpen (may their arms rest in peace) and the offense. Both will be needed vs. the Sox this weekend. The starting matchups are, err, not terribly favorable.
I don't understand the Phillies. They take their ace, or maybe 2nd best starting pitcher (and renowned wife beater) and move him to the bullpen, putting Jon Lieber back in the rotation. I get that their 'pen has been bad, but that just strikes me as crazy. Myers is a damned good starting pitcher... and they're gonna use him for a few innings here and there?
He always has been... shame the hated Yankee fans can't figure it out (or haven't until now... a bit too late, since he'll leave y'all).
