Beckett walks too many people. I don't like that.

Heh, how about that shaky dominant Mets pitching?

Of course, small sample. But still that's a real nice start.

I need some Yankee wins to buoy my spirits (tough night last night re: realty stuff). Deliver, Andy!

Well, then. It's only the Royals and all, but Mr. Matsuzaka appears to be earning his keep.

            6IP, 5h, 1bb, 8k, 1ER. 96 pitches.

I can't see it, but it would appear that he's pretty good.

Hopefully not lost in this is the fact that Zach Greinke is pitching really well. 7IP, 2ER, 7Ks. And one of the runs maybe shouldn't have scored (double, steal of third, throwing error by catcher, thereby allowing the run). If the throw doesn't go into LF, maybe it's a 1-1 game. That's damn good against Boston, especially considering the kid (apparently) had a mental breakdown not long ago.

April baseball - for having it, for consistency of play.

And booing A-Rod already is so wrong

Schil looked great tonight, and luckily with the day off tomorrow to head home, Tito wasn't afraid to go early to Paps for the five-out save. Five outs on 15 pitches - that was just dominant.

Meanwhile, the MFY are 2-3 at home against the weakest teams in the division. Should be nice for the head to head matchups later in April.

Fist - **** A-rod, with what he gets paid, and his abysmal clutch/playoff performances, he's long since in a no tolerance zone.

Still, ARod is putting up awesome numbers, it's quite insane to expect he hits walk off grand slams every night.

Their problem is starting pitchers who can't survive past the 5th.

And yup, Papelbon is lights out. I'm just glad he's back closing our games. Pineiro loaded the bases without recording an out I just hope Pap's shoulder stays healty because if it does he's dominant.

The problem with Yankee fans (not ALL, mind) is that they'll boo A-Rod for getting out with a runner in scoring position, but Jeter will have TWO costly errors in a game, and they'll still cheer his ass like his **** don't stink.

It is nutty, no doubt. I was very pleased that ARod hit the walk-off grand salami the other night. That should help a bit.

The pitching and defense has been terrible. Neither is a great strength of the team, but this is well below reasonable expectations. Both will improve.

Looks like I'll be a Twins fan tonight and two more, then three days of being an A's fan, and 3 more rooting for the Indians. I never can stick with a second favorite team (other than the local minor league (i.e. NL) team) for more than 3-4 days at a time.

I'm waiting for real baseball, back to back weekends on the 20-22nd and 27-29th.
