  • Yeh, works for me. Quinn #1. He'll be tough not to draft first. The details of his game are very solid.
I came upon a barroom full of bad Salon pictures in which men with hats on the backs of their heads were wolfing food from a counter. It was the institution of the "free lunch" I had struck. You paid for a drink and got as much as you wanted to eat. For something less than a rupee a day a man can feed himself sumptuously in San Francisco, even though he be a bankrupt. Remember this if ever you are stranded in these parts. ~ Rudyard Kipling, 1891

    • Took another couple of times but I finally got it to work.

      • Is Smith a pro prospect?

        • Kind of short, 6'1".

          • He is being talked about on Sportsradio as a first round pick somewhere around 10 - 15.

There are a lot of QB's that used to be considered too short.

            Donovan McNabb is 6'2"
            Tony Romo is only 6'2"
            Drew Brees is 6' even
            Mike Vick is 6'

So, height isn't as big of a deal as it used to be.

            ACK!

            • Vick? What's your point?

              Yeah, Tarkenton was no mountain.

                I was just sayin'

He is a starter, however, and he does win.

                • AFAIK, Smith is very generously listed as 6'1". More like 5'11".

Wait a couple of months until the Heisman and Nat'l Championship hubbub dies down. We'll get a truer picture.

                    • I know Imran will look in here eventually, and it was a chance to bad-mouth his boy.

                          • Got it. Don't have much positive to say about Vick, so I'll refrain from talking about him.

Wait until the Combine... but yeah, Smith with a great national championship game could vault himself like Vince Young did last year.

                              • The Michigan game was the game that gave him all of the exposure. I doubt that beating Florida will have much incremental impact. He's already made his mark.

One of the interesting things to me is seeing what the NFL folks look at. It's not the same as what you might wish for in a college player. For instance, this year, it was stated that Leinart's game is good, but that there are certain places where he's not polished, such as the 2 minute package. I realized that Quinn has by far the most polished clock management skills of any college QB that I can recall.
