This year I want to remember the passengers of the 4th plain.
    They died like the others.
But they knew there is always a last choice to make, to knee and dye like sheep or to
    fight and dye like men.
And their choice was to dye like men.
    God bless their souls.

Never Forget, Always Remember? Isn't the other redundant?

I had forgotten, which I think is good, actually.

Ah yes, it's today... a heartfeld RIP to the victims, a sincere "hope you are well" to the family, friends and loved ones, yawn to all the rest.

I'd ask you to keep humor/politics out of this thread, please. You can make another thread if you wish.

Those who are stupid can't help it and those who want to act stupid can't be helped.

We miss them, even if we didn't know them personally. A lot of us in the consulting trade lost people we did know personally. So very pointless. RIP

Damn, I was going to take a swing at fed1943 and his obsession with dyes.

I still haven't made up my mind about 11/9. It's always a bad thing when people die, and I feel bad for those who did, but I don't know about the bigger picture. Does your response to 11/9 feel... hollow to you?

                        Where were you . . . .

                        on 9/11/2001?

I was an undergraduate student who had just moved on campus after being back from Ecuador overseas studies trip month and half before Sep. 11. This was also a couple months after my partner's suicide, which happened while I was still overseas.

So when 9/11 terrorist attacks happened, I was going through a painful personal crisis of my own, and then fiinding myself shocked and overwhelmed with what had happened in New York, Washington DC, and rural Pennsylvania. That morning, I was having breakfast in the university cafeteria when someone turned all the mounted televisions to a news channel. I saw the smoking towers of World Trade Center . . .

Given that your thread is neither humorous nor political, I've decided to merge it with BK's thread.
