He's not the only person to put his money up front to keep Apolyton running. Virtually no one knew Apolyton was "up for sale" except for the current in-crowd in the admin.

That's true, but in the end, he's the one who was willing to put his money up front to buy the site. I know gratitude is a difficult thing to understand for Poly posters, but we should be respectful.

I'm not saying, if he's screwed up don't be critical, but I do think he is owed a modicum of respect.

Many of us are bitter because DanQ didn't even consult the forum community on who wanted to pitch in. It was a very poor decision on his part.

That's DanQ's choice. Take it up with him, not cybershy. If you are so bitter about how you've been treated there are other places to go.

Not only is the idea ridiculous, it quantifies how much censorship is going on. Not only that, but it is in BOLD FONT at the top of the OTF forum to constantly remind people.

Is this the kind of awesome decision-making we can expect to revitalize the site?

That is the perception. The reality is that Che made a thread that was a lame troll. Ozzy added a poll and posted his own thread. Those threads were begging for a merge.

Poly throw histrionics when Che's thread, even though it was the original, was superceded by Ozzy's thread, and deleted.

I would have deleted Che's thread anyways, there wasn't any content in it that wasn't in Ozzy's and Ozzy's had a poll.

I think it's a matter of different opinins on a closed thread forum. In the past, many times the thread would just get deleted or moved to the mod forum. And if just closed, they would eventually drop out of site.

Now people know what has been closed down, and can see for themselves why or why maybe they shouldn't have been. Sure, it's a reminder... but it's also a more open approach. They wanted to be more open, and this is a step, whether you agree with it or not.

They are trying... but it seems like some people will never give them a chance. It's all just a stupid game for some people. Sad.

It's the perception, because that's what happened. Che posted the original thread, which was containing a lively discussion. Ozzy posted a pro-Christian slanted thread. He made two mistakes here: (1) he closed the anti-Christian thread in favour of the pro-Christian thread in the context of people being hypersensitive to his past as a...interesting...Chrisitan poster in favour of Creationism on this site; (2) he closed the original thread rather than the copycat thread in violation of long-standing OTF tradition and common sense
