I think it's a matter of different opinins on a closed thread forum. In the past, many times the thread would just get deleted or moved to the mod forum. And if just closed, they would eventually drop out of site.

Now people know what has been closed down, and can see for themselves why or why maybe they shouldn't have been. Sure, it's a reminder... but it's also a more open approach. They wanted to be more open, and this is a step, whether you agree with it or not.

They are trying... but it seems like some people will never give them a chance. It's all just a stupid game for some people. Sad.

Ming, there's little incentive to give them a chance when they've blown it in the first couple days already.

Fact is, there are many sites on the internet and sites directly competing with Apolyton that are managed better. There is virtually no room for bungling ineptitude here.

The community has been sticking around in the OTF with hope for future revitalization for a long time now, asking us to wait around with more patience for a controversial new owner who is already ****ing up left, right, and centre is a bit hard to stomach.

Why should we wait months for him to get his **** together? Why should we expect him to behave differently than he has since he's been on this site? Both of these are unreasonable.

They need to hit the ground nothing. If he doesn't know what he's doing yet, the best approach is to DO NOTHING until you do know. Instantly ****ing with things is not the way to go, especially if you don't have a game plan!

Che posted the original thread, which was containing a lively discussion. Ozzy posted a pro-Christian slanted thread. He made two mistakes here: (1) he closed the anti-Christian thread in favour of the pro-Christian thread in the context of people being hypersensitive to his past as a...interesting...Chrisitan poster in favour of Creationism on this site; (2) he closed the original thread rather than the copycat thread in violation of long-standing OTF tradition and common sense

Again, your assertion that Cybershy is the only person capable of paying the bills is patently absurd. No one even asked the OTF.

I'm not grateful that someone bought the site only to **** it up if no one else was offered.

I have moved to other sites. If you look at CG you'll see an uptick in Poly posters posting there, for instance.

Right now? Yes. They're actively stealing posters from elsewhere and saying all the right things to set expectations.

If he does... delete them, I would agree with you. As for closing the thread, if the personal crap continues, it could be closed for that and not neccesarily the content.

But then again... people are going out of their way to provoke a reaction... and then they stand up when it happens and go "SEE, I TOLD YOU SO"
