I actually think Russian Rocket Technology is pretty good. Hard to imagine a society where you can't make a drone without Western parts but you can make a moon rocket!

It sure sounds like Putin wanted his audience at least to understand that the "special military operation" was to address the NATO "threat".

Sometimes they just stop moving, with the crew remaining inside, in a roasted state (instead of exploding spectacularly)

Yeah, the flying turret isn't a must. If they're not fully loaded with spare ammo and/or aren't fully buttoned up, an ammo cook-off will not yeet the turret.

There's also several possible catastrophic-kill scenarios that don't involve ammo cook-off, but still mean the tank is not useful anymore (and a lot of these also mean dead crews)
