I have a choice between pfizer, moderna, astrazeneca and johnson and johnson.
The first two have the advantage of higher immunity to the disease but can trigger allergic reactions (which are managable)
The last two have the advantage of 0 allergic reactions but lower immunity percentage. OTOH you get almost immediately vaccinated if you choose those two (like within a couple of days).
I have no idea when I will be getting my shots. I saw a notice in the window of my doctor which leads me to believe it will be a month or two until I am eligible to get a shot. I need to see him on 20th May so I will ask him then.
The doctor had previously advised me to await a call from his receptionist. She called yesterday and I now have an appointment for my covid shot, next week.
You're male so the most you could get is 38oC fever for a maximum of 2 days....
I've also contemplated getting astra. I would have been vaccinated now.
But I opted for pfizer/moderna.
All are good though for not dying (except for astra and some young females)
On a side note astra in greek means stars (where did you think stars came from as a word)
So we say "astra... it sends you to astra (stars)
(explanaton: you die with astra)
(if you're young and female and the most unlucky in a million or so)
End of this week Astra Zeneca has been released to the general practicioners and been allowed to be distributed to everyone regardless of priority.
And my GPs practice has send out a mail that they have received a large shipment of AZ and will hold a vaccination day on wednesday afternoon next week.
But AZ is only recommended for people 60+ or people with a high risk of getting CoViD-19 (like those who usuallly work around lots of other people).
As neither is true for me (fortunately working home office) and AZ also seems to be weak against newer virus variants, I guess I will give it a pass and wait till either BioNTech/Pfizer or Moderna are available for distibution by my GP, or till it is my turn in the official vaccination list and I can make an appointment in a vaccination center

Visitors to Dracula's castle are being jabbed with needles rather than fangs after a Covid-19 vaccine centre has been set up at the Transylvanian site.
Medics with fang stickers on their scrubs are offering Pfizer shots to everyone who visits the 14th-century Bran Castle in central Romania.
It is part of a government drive to encourage more Romanians to get jabbed.
Some believe the castle inspired the vampire's lair in Bram Stoker's iconic novel Dracula.
This one really knocked me out yesterday. I got Fatigue and muscle pain in my arms, back, and neck, and constant pain in the arm I got the shot. Seems much better this morning though.
