My claim isn't that Americans have unlimited freedom, and it certainly isn't that they can murder people etc because government does have a duty to protect. But governments primary duty is to protect our rights. This is why they can tax and do other things that are reasonable So we give up a little bit or our rights and we keep most of them. But the way you tell the story we have to give up most of our rights for very little in return since most people are not in danger of dying from this virus. The people that are are very old.
