So is this your argument for the current Repub plan?
Are you pro or against the new plan?
I like that it eliminates the individual mandate. I like that it jumps coverage for seniors to something like 9x what it is for younger people. I like that it eliminates funding for Planned parenthood and abortion providers.

I would rather see Obamacare outright repealed first though. They can figure out what to replace it with later.

For me removing the individual mandate is huge. If it passes, I will have to go back to my employer and ask if we can reinstate our health care package that we voluntarily chose to set aside when Obamacare came in.

Your employer must suck. If the plan they offered was so bad that you would tell them you didn't want it.

The better employers offer decent plans and pick up a good chunk of the cost.

        Who is your employer again?

It appears that talk of instability in the health care marketplaces was exaggerated (like so much else in the Trump administration): https://fivethirtyeight.com/features...snt-imploding/

I should also add that most of the uncertainty surrounding this market was caused directly by State Governments and Federal Government actions/policies. I'll give you 1 guess as to which states and which administration.

What killed it the most was that the mandate didn't work. Then the uncertainty what would replace it and when. These decisions have to be made well in advance.

Obama was suing the nuns because their plan didn't include abortion. Ours was similar. We had a meeting with management and opted to drop our coverage. Had our school been sued, we would have closed and been out of a job.

                Wow that was dumb.

Hobby Lobby did happen, but apparently religious institutions don't know how to figure that into their plans. On the other hand, most religious institutions try to avoid smuggling antiquities (or at least avoid getting caught smuggling antiquities).

What Ben is not telling you, probably because he is too stupid to know, is why this problem magically popped up right after Trump took office. The reason is Trump has been withhold the cost sharing payments which legally the Feds are obligated to pay. I.E. he is refusing to pay the subsidies to insurance companies as legally required. This is what is causing insurance companies to decide to withdraw from the market as there were cmvery few problems prior to Jan 20th of this year. Gee, what happened on Jan 20th?

The other big thing is Trump changed the rules by refusing to ebforce the individual mandate which again upset insurance companies because it changed the rules mid game. In short, Republicans are 100% to blame as they are deliberately trying to crash healthcare markets.

Was that abortion or contraceptives? Please post a link. It's not like you've haven't played loose with the facts before.
I guess the high pay you receive makes up for the lack of health care.
But then anyone willing to risk going bankrupt due to an illness isn't very bright anyway. Not being able to afford it is one thing, but choosing it is different. I guess they deserve what they get.
                      Just my opinion.

                      • Ben was worried he might be tempted to get a free abortion.

                        • Ben just wants to find abortions with his tax dollars, he doesn't ask for anything in return for himself.

Only in America could Hobby Lobby be a religious institution.

...um, yes. While I'm definitely not admitting to anything, real religious institutions do know how to move things around... temporal boundaries notwithstanding...
