You are a little fascist. Free to leave? How so? Many do not have the ability to leave. You just spent your whole ****ing life coasting... Get out of your ivory tower.

Yet again... this doesn't change the FACT that the Bakers discriminated against the gay couple.

Interesting. Hasn't your argument been that the 125k fine been levied because of discrimination? and that you defended levying such a fine?
No... I've argued that they did a crime and had to pay the fine. YOU are the one that has argued that they got fined simply because they denied baking a cake and how unfair that was and how it was too much money for the action of not baking a cake.

I agree that posting their information is wrong, but, on the topic of harassment, death threats against Melissa were also wrong. I would call it a wash - because I certainly can't see the courts fining those who harassed Melissa with death threats 135k, despite the fact that their business got closed down. That, actually represents a real, actionable loss, not the loss of a couple hours of time that it would take to get a new caterer. Max damages I could see is maybe a hundred bucks or so.
I can see how a bigot like you would call it a wash... I wonder how you would feel if your personal information was posted on line with the sole intent that you could be harassed.
Oh, and by the way, while their brick and mortar store has been closed, they now run their business online.

Yes, because we all know that the worst crime is to make money.

Folks can and are free to leave.

Oh committing corporate crimes that could collapse an entire economy is fine... as long as the criminal makes money.

          You are beyond help.

A part time history teacher at Catholic school thinks he has figured out. He thinks he knows what the real world is like. People aren't free to leave and in your world would be enslaved.

They were repeat customers. This would be like a motel during Jim Crow admitting a black person for the night, and then later getting sued the next time the black person came by when he got his ass tossed to the curb for being a disrespectful jackass to the employees.

Sure, the black guy can claim that it happened because he was black, but that doesn't explain why they had no issues previously. Any judge worth their salt would look at that claim and say, "whoa, you were repeat customers? And had no issues prior? Something else has to be going on here". And indeed there is.

Good for them. I hope they make a ton of money. Loss of a business is a real, actionable loss. Loss of a cake is not nearly the same. So you're right, it would be unreasonable to consider it a wash. They would have a 6 figure fine against the client for all the harassment they received.

              Profit-making businessowners are criminals?

People are free to leave their jobs. The only slavery is the take that comes from taxation which takes 50 percent of what a person owns. That's 180 days of slavery every year.

Again... the fine wasn't about Loss of a cake. It was about a vicious act of posting the couples private information on their Facebook page to incite people to harass the couple.
Any problems the bakers faced were of their own making... unlike the real victims here who had their personal information posted on line.

You moron. I was talking about corporate criminals. You can't even read.

Not in your system. People would be forced into their jobs. Taxation isn't slavery, right wing idiot. Infrastructure must be paid for by taxation, or else you won't have infrastructure.

                  • Ben hates all regulation. Child sex trafficking is fine in his book. Why should we question the "businessmen" involved in sex trafficking? They are making money and we have no business being involved... right?

Umm I don't think Ben is fine with child sex trafficking.

Your point was the customers weren't showing their love for the bakers... why is that relevant to Christians who were instructed to love their enemies? Sounds like you've replaced the Golden Rule with "do unto others as they do unto you"

Someone can actually read. Also, you should probably actually answer the question.
No... I dont think a black, Jew or gay baker should be required to bake cakes for the KKK, Nazis, or the Pope and his cult

I figured the question was rhetorical, but the juxtaposition was amusing... You're actually comparing gays to the Nazis and KKK to justify continued mistreatment by Catholics.

Well, then. Seems as if the issue was catering for a homosexual wedding contrary to their business reputation. Can't see why a Christian bakery might not want to have their name associated with that.

It was about a vicious act of posting the couples private information on their Facebook page to incite people to harass the couple.
As opposed to the vicious act of shutting down their business, and having them receive death threats?

Any problems the bakers faced were of their own making... unlike the real victims here who had their personal information posted on line.
Really. So had the customer not gone to the store, they'd still be in business.

The bakers are the real pond scum here... first they discriminated against the couple, and then violated their privacy online... Pretty crappy Christians if you ask me.
They lost their business which is a pretty ****ty thing to do to someone over a cake. I hope they make 10x whatever they were making in Oregon.
