Full of **** numbers. That isn't sexual abuse. Yes, op-ed crapshoot that didn't even read the study it cited. Just like with mass shootings, you are full of crap once again.
For there is [another] kind of violence, slower but just as deadly, destructive as the shot or the bomb in the night. This is the violence of institutions -- indifference, inaction, and decay. This is the violence that afflicts the poor, that poisons relations between men because their skin has different colors. - Bobby Kennedy (Mindless Menance of Violence)

    • By the way, does Ben even know how many kids go through public school? Ben truly is full of it. Just like that agenda driven unscientific study that op/ed cited. It wasn't even a good study or one recognized as valid.

      • Interesting. The first response of Ming when confronted with numbers is to say, "it's not really sexual abuse".

          LOL

It's CBS. So I dunno why you're attacking the source here.

          • Also... you have to laugh at their use of numbers.
Their "comparison" is a joke. They compare the total numbers of sexual misconduct (not actual sexual abuse) to the attendance of Private Catholic Schools in a lame attempt to show how it's worse in Public Schools vs Catholic Schools. That's just bad math. They don't provide a percent against total attendance in Public Schools, and can't provide a number of incidents of sexual misconduct in Catholic Schools. The study is worthless for proving whether sexual misconduct is worse in Public vs Catholic schools, and does not specifically even address the issue of actual sexual abuse.

And that's why it's an op-ed piece and not real news or facts.

So please find a real cite next time... and maybe you should actually read it first before you blindly post it.

              Sauce, Goose, Gander.

What's next, saying that rape isn't really rape?

No... my first response was to actually look at what the numbers were... and look at the definition of terms used in the study.
I guess in your mind, somebody telling a dirty joke is equal to raping them.

You are the one that seems to be implying that a dirty joke is the same as rape.

The cite you provided does not address just rapes and other acts that fall under the definition of sexual abuse.
But as usual, you have no problems changing definitions when you have been proved wrong once again.

                    It is not CBS.

CBS does not agree or disagree with op/eds on their site. Op/eds are independent of the official stance of CBS (and any publication).

For crying out loud... you don't even know what an Op/ed is.

                    • On that CBS site it says "opinion" in big ****ing letters. I am sure you will be able to find a disclaimer along the lines that "CBS doesn't take a stance one way or another with opinions expressed blah blah blah".

Ben doesn't even read what he posts.

                        • The individual Catholics I know are terrific, pro-LGBT people and they don't have to ask me to forgive anything. I owe them thanks for their support.

If the Pope thinks the Church should be asking for forgiveness, then he should go ahead and do so.

                          • I know many Catholics too and they all support me in coming out and being me. Entire Catholic countries have legalized same sex marriage before the SCOTUS even addressed the issue. With popular support too.

I'm not sure what your point is. Are you suggesting that the Church is a democracy?

I'm talking about countries that have predominantly Catholic identified populations. Come on Ben... Surely your reading comprehension isn't this bad!
