      religions that teach people to breed like rabbits don't bode well for the future of life on this planet

      thats the problem with dogma, it may have made sense at some distant point in the past but has become anachronistic

      course if you believe God is coming back soon it wont matter if 8 or 20 billion people are consuming the planet

      and we're to believe religion is virtuous?

        If it's OK to have sex just for fun then it's purpose is not just for procreation.
        Again - sex is not 'just for fun'. That is my point. And I never argued that sex is only for procreation.

          It does. That is my point. Our disagreement isn't really over what Giancarlo does in the bedroom, but rather, what we believe is the purpose of sex.

          Indeed. This would indicate that there's a fundamental difference between fornication and between sodomy.

          Similarly sex between a man and a woman doesn't lead to children when one of them has dysfunctions in his/her procreation system that lead him/her to become infertile
          This would indicate a physiological defect on the part of one or both partners. The reason we would suspect this is because sex between a healthy man and a healthy woman should lead to pregnancy.

            What do you mean the same outcome? Are you dense?
            Things that have the same substance should have similar outcomes. This we do not see between sodomy and sex. If you have sex you can have children. If you engage in sodomy you will not have children. Ergo, these are two different things.

              What about NFP? I thought you claimed it was ineffective.

              As for older people - they are not deliberately preventing themselves from having children. Infertility is not the issue - deliberately preventing fertility is. That is what is meant by sex being 'open' to life.

                        Catholic Family Planning... sounds like an oxymoron to me. The Catholic Church is finally being ignored throughout Latin America and birthrates are coming down. The Catholic Church thinks that women should stay home and have as many kids as possible. They think women shouldn't have any rights and men should have their way with them at all times. That's the Catholic Church for you. That's why an increasing percentage of people throughout Latin America just don't give a **** about them anymore. Also explains why same sex marriage is being legalized in countless "Catholic" countries.
