We've gone from, "the bible doesn't discuss it", to "the bible is contradictory". Either one or the other is true, not both. If the bible says contradictory things, then there's somewhere in the bible that affirms homosexuality.

However, you are totally correct about his cherry picking. The Bible has tons of stuff that were ok and ordered by God back then and now would be considered horrific.
