Homosexuality refers to relations between men or between women who experience an exclusive or predominant sexual attraction toward persons of the same sex. Note -chastity is not celibacy. Since chastity is rightly ordered sexual conduct - what the Chruch is saying is that self-mastery of these desires is possible and that it is possible for people to overcome their difficulties.

It is not the same as saying that self-mastery is easy - and this isn't singling out anyone. We are all called to this.

Nobody gives a **** what the church is calling for. Chastity? Oh wow. The only thing that isn't 19th century about that thinking is the website. That sounds like something taken out of the Victorian age. Of course, don't expect Priests to keep their hands of young kids.

If one believes that an alcoholic can overcome their predispositions, then there's no reason to suggest that homosexuality would be any different. We don't define an alcoholic by their alcoholism - although in years past, that used to be the case.

Granted, this is not everyone, but there's a not insubstantial proportion that are saying that they can and did change. And folks talk about how the Church and God helped them overcome their alcoholism and become sober. Nobody blinks an eye at that.

If people want to leave their lives of alcoholism, we don't put any barriers up for them. Why is this any different?

Start naming these people. Nobody has been restored. It is all a lie. Religion does not change sexual orientation.

And being gay has nothing to do with someone being an alcoholic you moron. Alcoholism kills people. Me being gay does not.
