      • Just saw this explanation on Facebook-

So, let me get this straight... the leader of the opposition campaigned to stay but secretly wanted to leave, so his party held a non-binding vote to shame him into resigning so someone else could lead the campaign to ignore the result of the non-binding referendum which many people now think was just angry people trying to shame politicians into seeing they'd all done nothing to help them.

Meanwhile, the man who campaigned to leave because he hoped losing would help him win the leadership of his party, accidentally won and ruined any chance of leading because the man who thought he couldn't lose, did - but resigned before actually doing the thing the vote had been about. The man who'd always thought he'd lead next, campaigned so badly that everyone thought he was lying when he said the economy would crash - and he was, but it did, but he's not resigned, but, like the man who lost and the man who won, also now can't become leader. Which means the woman who quietly campaigned to stay but always said she wanted to leave is likely to become leader instead.

Which means she holds the same view as the leader of the opposition but for opposite reasons, but her party's view of this view is the opposite of the opposition's. And the opposition aren't yet opposing anything because the leader isn't listening to his party, who aren't listening to the country, who aren't listening to experts or possibly paying that much attention at all. However, none of their opponents actually want to be the one to do the thing that the vote was about, so there's not yet anything actually on the table to oppose anyway. And if no one ever does do the thing that most people asked them to do, it will be undemocratic and if any one ever does do it, it will be awful.

Alice felt that this could not be denied, so she tried another question. `What sort of people live about here?’

`In THAT direction,’ the Cat said, waving its right paw round, `lives a Hatter: and in THAT direction,’ waving the other paw, `lives a March Hare. Visit either you like: they’re both mad.’

`But I don’t want to go among mad people,’ Alice remarked.

`Oh, you can’t help that,’ said the Cat: `we’re all mad here. I’m mad. You’re mad.’

`How do you know I’m mad?’ said Alice.

`You must be,’ said the Cat, `or you wouldn’t have come here.’

What an arrogant ****. I notice when the voters of several nations rejected the, so called, " EU Constitution" the arrogant bastards didn't think no meant no and they pushed it threw anyway. It is naked imperial ambition out of the European Commission and nothing more. They see a chance to eliminate the opposition so now rules must be changed, the long term way of doing business has to change, and everything has to be centralized with them in charge and no democratic accountability. Hell, tge exit folks were saying even if they lost anything less than a 60% margin on a nonbinding popularity vote wasn't binding but the opposite is not supposed to be true? Their arrogance really will cause more nations to bolt.

              • It is curious those who reject the queen are perfectly happy to reject the people when they choose what they do not.

were you saying that when I was saying that Greece needs to reassess its bailout program because the austerity and fundamental economics are flawed and you need another approach?

No, you were saying shut up lazy bastards they are paying and you'll do what they say.

Now you complain about others' arrogance when you don't see your own.

                  That is called hypocricy.

All your arguments now, were my arguments then. But you chose to keep talking bull****.

I guess truth doesn't interest you, only what you think it's right (and it's wrong) and who you like more vis a vis some other.

                  • And you know what?

It was this arrogance and inflexibility that contributed decisively to this result.

It played a crucial role in the narrative.

Of course it is tiring and not honoring at all to be "defended" by all the right wing parties of europe (but it also comes from left wing) but the "treatement" of greece directly produced the brexit.

Spin it any way you like, people like you made the UK leave.
