Actually Jesus is very specific in these passages of the bible.
(he said the words to his disciples and Mary Magdalena, after his resurrection)
He gives a detailed list of abilities which believers will possess after having been baptized:
1. Driving out demons
2. Speaking in tongues (glossolalia ... actually a rather easy task )
3. Touching poisonous smnakes with their bare hands
4. Drinking poison without getting hurt
5. Healing sick people with the touch of their hand

There is nothing in these passages that suggests that these are any kind of parable,
but rather everything in it suggests that he means it in the literal sense


So, if you are a true believer, one touch of your hand is enough to drive out diseases ... and you can drink even deadly poison without harm ... at least according to Jesus.
