  • What is also interesting, is that this boy who has been invited to the White House by President Obama, was arrested even though the police chief admits that they knew it wasn't a bomb.

Irving Police Chief Larry Boyd refused to say on Thursday that his officers erred in arresting 14-year-old Ahmed Mohamed on Monday even though they allegedly knew he did not bring a bomb to his high school.MSNBC host Chris Hayes gave Boyd the opportunity to admit to a mistake, while conceding that p...

“Once it’s determined that this is just a clock or just a piece of electronics, why then the arrest and all of that?” he asked Boyd. “That’s very hard for folks to understand.”

“I get that. I understand the concern,” the chief responded. “The officers pretty quickly determined that they weren’t investigating an explosive device. What their investigation centered around is the law violation of bringing a device into a facility like that that is intended to create a level of alarm. In other words, a hoax bomb — something that is not really a bomb, but is designed and presented in a way that it creates people to be afraid.”

Furthermore, his father has a history of being an activist for Islam in the public setting.

When I first posted this story, I said it smelled fishy. Now it positively stinks. Does this look like a clock to you? And now the plot thickens. In what has become one of the most egregious of the faked hate narratives, the bomb hoax clockster has a family with a history of supremacist stunts....

And now the plot thickens. In what has become one of the most egregious of the faked hate narratives, the bomb hoax clockster has a family with a history of supremacist stunts.

“One of the earliest instances of the standout citizen making national news was in 2011, when he sensationally stood up to an anti-Islamic pastor and defended the Koran as its defense attorney. That mock trial at a Florida church ended with the book’s burning, to ElHassan’s claimed shock. In an interview with the Washington Post at the time, the devoted Muslim said he’d take on Rev. Terry Jones’ challenge because the holy book teaches that Muslims should engage in peaceful dialogue with Christians.”

Also in 2011, ElHassan debated Robert Spencer on “Does Islam Respect Human Rights?” Clearly, he was trying to score against a famous “Islamophobe” and thus win a name for himself. ElHassan has been looking for publicity and chances to fight against “Islamophobia” for a considerable period. Now he has seized it, going so far as to claim his son was “tortured” by school and law enforcement officials.

So here we have a story about a "genius boy" who was wrongfully arrested, even though the police admittedly knew better, and has had nationwide outcry and Obama promptly responds by inviting him to the White House while all the media seems to ignore the rest of the details.

If this isn't a completely fabricated propaganda piece, I don't know what is. Apparently, we are supposed to have sympathy for young Islamic men. Oddly enough, this is happening when refugees are pouring out of Syria.

Are you out of your mind? His father debated against people who claim Islam is some huge threat to America, and that apparently makes him some suspicious element to you?

We're talking about a kid who made a ****ing clock for christs sake.

No, the huge LED clock display on the front clearly has no discernible clock like features.

I can't say if the father or somebody else put the kid up to it or if the kid did it in a misguided attempt to help his father's campaign/notoriety. Here's the thing:

The father is the one who volunteered to play the "defense" lawyer for the Quaran in the Terry Jones mock trial preceding the Quaran burning. He's a Sudanese immigrant who started out selling hot dogs, eventually moved on to taxi driving and eventually started a taxi company. He's also been nominated twice (2010 and 2015) to run for President of Sudan. If you search for his name and National Reform Party, you'll see him mentioned in numerous sources. He was also recently profiled in the North Dallas Gazette.

Here's the other thing. Of all the possible "inventions" this young tinkerer could have possibly brought to school, I think we can all agree that a small suitcase looking device with a red illuminated display is a close second only to an alarm clock taped to a bundle of road flares in terms of suspicious looking devices.

                  • I will admit when I started digging into the details of this case, it just didnt add up. The trouble is, most of us want wrongs righted; we don't want to see bigotry and the ugly side of human nature. So when it has been discovered that the "bigotry" was a manufactured stunt (the Twitter photo of the familia Mohamed, all smiles and flashing "V" for victory--we're gonna be rich!--captioned on our way to our lawyers office) many of us recoil. The pater Mohamed is a Sudanese (and Muslim) political activist. His first phone call (by his own statements) was to CAIR. All the familiar political memes were hit (yea trip to White House! Hillary tweeted! Woo boo!)

And what is the fall out? Well, the taxpayers of Arlington Texas will no doubt be paying a settlement of some kind. Some police officers (who risk their lives daily) will have some sort of reprimand in the HR files for dealing with a little smart ass kid; the teachers involved in this case will be billed as racist/islamophobes for doing their jobs per a myriad of post 9/11 "if you see something, say something" training; some deserving TRUE genius type kid will get knocked of the que for the UNT STEM program to make way for Ahmed; and Mr Mohamed, Sr will probably get a talking head gig on cable TV as some kind of islamo-expert.

Many people who really were just living a routine day, now have their reputations besmirched by the Mohamed family scam. And as always, some legitimately harmed person will later suffer because public sympathies were betrayed by the Mohamed boy who cried "clock."

                    • So the school and police were so predictable in their overreaction. Or were they in on it?

Hmmm....It is true that the police did arrest him. I don't doubt that his ethnicity and religion played some part in the decision. There's been no claims from the police or the school that he misrepresented the device in any way at all. So in that regard, it's kind of a brilliant bit of social engineering because without the police overreacting and arresting him, there'd have been no story.

Or maybe, just maybe the kid made a goddamn clock and wanted his teachers to say 'Hey, nice work kid!'.

His father chose to defend his faith against a radical nutjob who wanted to paint all Muslims as evil. And to you that makes his father the radical? Really?
