Both Democrats and Republicans have criticized Trump's response
it seems the "problem" was that that mop didn't defend obama, whereas the way I see it, that guy verbatim said: we have a problem in this country and it's muslims.
edit: oh, it seems clinton also addressed the xenophobic remark about muslims too.
1. School administrators are not the sharpest darts on the board. At times they are simply incompetent teachers who were promoted just to get them out of the classroom (I have had teachers from three different districts tell me this). When I was hauled out of class back in the nineties, the two vice principals who questioned me seemed almost pathetically excited by the deviation from routine. I swear they actually pulled good cop/bad cop on me. Can't speak for the actual cops, since they didn't get involved, but it doesn't seem likely that they'd send their best and brightest to handle something like this.
2. When you are a teenager accused wrongfully of wrongdoing, your first inclination is not necessarily to cooperate with the authorities. In my case, I was a nasty little ****. I gave short, sullen answers when I answered at all, tried to second-guess their questions, and at times actually mocked their accusations. Shockingly, this did not defuse the situation.
I have no idea how the kid reacted, but if he got at all defensive with moron admin and jumpy cops, I could easily see the situation escalating to a ridiculous level. One clue: this child was apparently not very conscious of others' perceptions and reactions, seeing as he brought a beeping suitcase full of wires, circuits and a prominent digital display into a public school without giving advance notice. That is almost, but not quite, as dumb as thinking a scrawny fourteen-year-old tech nerd requires handcuffing.
Is your argument that it wasn't racist just the result of public schools being staffed by unforgivably stupid people? I would totally agree with that. Student punished for American flag shirt
I don't believe it is due to the stupid people in schools, but the stupid people who get all worked up by these silly agendas and force this upon schools and society! More and more, it seems as if no matter what the issue, 'You are damned if you do and damned if you don't ' scenarios occur depending on the most current agenda being played out.
Oh that's hilarious, because you don't so you ridiculously accuse me.
You just admitted you have no problem with kids being hauled off to police stations and fingerprinted regardless of whether they've actually done anything wrong or not. Do you actually know what due process means?

He was taken to get his prints taken idiot. He wasn't charged. You don't give a **** about due process, as you have stated.
Moron.
I drank beer. I like beer. I still like beer. ... Do you like beer Senator?

This seems a bit Machiavellian for a typical 14 year old. The way you describe him makes it appear that he's either going to be a political rock star or a crime lord.
Not necessarily, most children emulate their parents beliefs more often than not. I am still digging for more details, since right now, it truly seems that this family has blown this all out of proportion to fit their own agenda. If this child was a non-Muslim, he would have been processed the same in our society, only there would be no media hype.
So you're happy with the state having the right to take any American to a police station and take their fingerprints with no due cause?
Actually, if you are brought into a police station here to be questioned...more than likely, you will be fingerprinted for their records. You can refuse, ask for an attorney, blah blah...but basically, it is just standard processing and does not mean you are being discriminated against. It is rather showing no special treatment, process all the same.

I guess we'll see just how 'normal' it was when the lawsuit comes.
