Two, repentence *is* sincere, regardless as to whether or not we sin later on. That's how the sin nature works - we work on becoming better people that sin less. But that doesn't mean that we will ever be free of sin - not on this earth.

That's how the sacrament of confession works, and why it works. Believing that someone was never a Christian if they ever sin is bad theology. David sinned. That didn't mean he was no longer a follower of God, but that meant that he had to repent of the sins that he committed in order to be received into proper fellowship with God. Sin damages our relationship with God, it does not destroy it.
If you repented and then went on sinning then you weren't sincere. If you got married, your spouse cheated on you, promised not to do it again, but went on cheating, you would call her sincere? You sound like a liberal dude. That's insane.

Couple points here. Infidelity is a bit different from sin in general. Forgiveness for infidelity doesn't mean that the person that is married to them has to stay married to them. Infidelity is a breaking of the bonds in marriage. Those bonds can't be restored. You are perfectly within your rights to divorce. However, you cannot remarry, at least while the other party is alive.

Two, there's also other mortal sins. How it works with confession is that... it doesn't really matter. Mortal sins *can* be forgiven. That's what Christ says when he was asked, "should I forgive my brother seventy-seven times? Yes.

You sound like a liberal dude. That's insane.
            I know. Wild ain't it.

            • Repenting is committing yourself not to sin. Your theology is nothing but a bunch of ridiculous double-talk. You keep talking to me like you're teaching me something but I almost want to laugh.

              • Repenting is committing yourself not to sin.
Then Peter came to Jesus and asked, “Lord, how many times shall I forgive my brother or sister who sins against me? Up to seven times?”

Jesus answered, “I tell you, not seven times, but seventy-seven times.

“Therefore, the kingdom of heaven is like a king who wanted to settle accounts with his servants. As he began the settlement, a man who owed him ten thousand bags of gold was brought to him. Since he was not able to pay, the master ordered that he and his wife and his children and all that he had be sold to repay the debt.

“At this the servant fell on his knees before him. ‘Be patient with me,’ he begged, ‘and I will pay back everything.’ The servant’s master took pity on him, canceled the debt and let him go.

“But when that servant went out, he found one of his fellow servants who owed him a hundred silver coins. He grabbed him and began to choke him. ‘Pay back what you owe me!’ he demanded.

“His fellow servant fell to his knees and begged him, ‘Be patient with me, and I will pay it back.’

“But he refused. Instead, he went off and had the man thrown into prison until he could pay the debt. When the other servants saw what had happened, they were outraged and went and told their master everything that had happened.

“Then the master called the servant in. ‘You wicked servant,’ he said, ‘I canceled all that debt of yours because you begged me to. Shouldn’t you have had mercy on your fellow servant just as I had on you?’ In anger his master handed him over to the jailers to be tortured, until he should pay back all he owed.

“This is how my heavenly Father will treat each of you unless you forgive your brother or sister from your heart.”
Your theology is nothing but a bunch of ridiculous double-talk. You keep talking to me like you're teaching me something but I almost want to laugh.
It's not my theology. I struggle with this in particular.

Because I'm not a follower of Kenobism? It's what Christ teaches. You forgive 77x because that's the promise Christ gives to us. He will forgive us too.

You can quote me on that, btw. "Christianity is unnatural".

If you're going to purposefully promote that which even you admit is nonsense then I have no more time for you.

Why would a Christian believe that any of what Christ teaches is nonsense? It's not mine in that I don't own the concept, never have owned the concept and I was taught it by people smarter than me.

I don't see the point of Kenobism. What would it be?

You said it's not your theology, which means you don't believe it. So answer your own question. "Why would a Christian believe that anything Christ taught is nonsense?"

Yes, because I didn't come up with it. It's Christ's teachigns.

, which means you don't believe it.
                              Uh, no. It's Christ's teachings.

I don't believe that what Christ taught here is nonsense. I agree with it. That's why I posted it. It's just not *my* theology. It's Christ's theology.
