Do these traditions have a hell, and if so then who goes to hell if everybody is forgiven whether they wanted to be forgiven or not?
When that part of the Bible was read during mass during my Catholic upbringing, the emphasis on that passage was "Forgive them for they know not what they do," i.e. the sin was ignorant rather than malicious and hence wasn't a mortal sin, whereas a mortal sin would still require one to seek forgiveness.
