    • STOXX Europe 600 up 1.8% today on hopes of a Greek deal. It would appear that the politicians are leaking info to insiders. Is there such a thing as insider trading on European stock exchanges?

Bond Markets have been reacting like there is a deal afoot as well. Highest yields since October.

        • And now the IMF team has gone back to DC. I guess there wasn't any insider trading going on after all. Quite refreshing to be wrong about this.

Indeed and the 10Yr Bond yield down .097 at this point today. Worst day for bonds since March. 30Yr auction had strong demand today as well. Looks like the Investors were reading this just plain wrong yesterday.

            • Latest talks seem to have failed. Could capital controls be coming soon?

              • Pretty much every state in fiscal profligacy has raided the churches to kick the can down the road.

                • Maybe the churches should stop sitting on huge piles of gold and cash, and maybe give it to the poor instead. Then they wouldn't make sure appealing targets.

                  • I have said since the 80s that if the Catholic Church sold a few Vatican artworks, they would be able to set up a permanent endowment for the Sister Teresa charities.

How would you know that the stock market is up 1.8% on the hopes of a deal? Did you poll all the investors who put money in? Did you weight their responses by their investment? Come on.

                      • Well obviously the investors have changed their opinions in the last two days.

And for the Record HC, I heard it reported exactly that way on quite a few news channels that morning. It seemed to be the consensus of the experts.

Obviously there's no way to be 100% sure but if Greece's stock market went up more than stock markets in other countries it's a pretty safe bet.

Could be market manipulation. Leak a false development, cash out when the market bites, or just contra bet.

Not that I believe that happened.

                            • Greece admits the obvious. Which explains why the Greek government has spent the last week lying about the substance of the talks and attempting to lay blame for their eventual exit on anyone but themselves.

                              • Today the Fed announced no rate increase and down graded the GDP forecast for the US for the remainder of 2015. One has to wonder if they are planning on Greek default fallout.
