Here we go again: almost all diet advice is wrong (again)
If there is no spoon, then how am I eating so much ice cream?!
You're not.

Also, pedotard, different kinds of calories are stored by the body in different ways. Muscle growth/repair requires higher amounts of protein. Highly refined sugars and flours tend to be stored as fat.
Going back to your argument about losing fat versus losing weight, if you are interested in losing fat and your body replacing that tissue with muscle (re-composition without a change in overall mass), you need to eat a protein rich diet.
Studies in animals have documented that, compared with glucose, dietary fructose induces dyslipidemia and insulin resistance. To assess the relative effects of these dietary sugars during sustained consumption in humans, overweight and obese subjects consumed glucose- or fructose-sweetened beverages …
Do you want more? I don't mind dishing out punishment.
So yes. Carbs make you fat.
I never said people should eat a protein deficient diet. The links you posted do not contradict the statement "calorie surpluses cause weight gain" at all. You're as bad as Ben Kenobi at this point.

We're also learning that not only does macro-nutrient balance play an important role in body composition and weight loss/gain, but the types of macro-nutrients matter. Carbs, specifically.
Dietary carbohydrate modification with rye and pasta or oat, wheat, and potato differentially modulates the gene expression profile in abdominal subcutaneous adipose tissue, even in the absence of weight loss.
Food isn't just calories. It is information... information that communicates with your genes to produce different results depending on what you eat.
This goes back to most people being bad at counting calories.
I only changed meds, not life style.

Yup. Further supporting the notion that counting calories and estimating energy expended is not to be relied upon when losing/gaining weight. That process is only a guideline.

I love that we agree.
I never claimed attempting to count calories would work for everyone. Some people can lose 35kg in a year without noticing a difference in lifestyle.

I accept your surrender. You were wrong. I was right.

While virtually absent in our diet a few hundred years ago, fructose has now become a major constituent of our modern diet. Our main sources of fructose are sucrose from beet or cane, high fructose corn syrup, fruits, and honey. Fructose has the same chemical formula as glucose (C(6)H(12)O(6)), but …
Nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) is the most common chronic liver disease in adults and children. A number of genetic and environmental factors are known to predispose individuals to NAFLD. Certain dietary sugars, particularly fructose, are suspected to contribute to the development of NAFLD …
Obesity and type 2 diabetes are occurring at epidemic rates in the United States and many parts of the world. The "obesity epidemic" appears to have emerged largely from changes in our diet and reduced physical activity. An important but not well-appreciated dietary change has been the substantial i …
This review explores whether fructose consumption might be a contributing factor to the development of obesity and the accompanying metabolic abnormalities observed in the insulin resistance syndrome. The per capita disappearance data for fructose from the combined consumption of sucrose and high-fr …
Our laboratory has investigated 2 hypotheses regarding the effects of fructose consumption: 1) the endocrine effects of fructose consumption favor a positive energy balance, and 2) fructose consumption promotes the development of an atherogenic lipid profile. In previous short- and long-term studies …
Whereas glucose favors overall growth kinetics, fructose enhances protein synthesis and appears to promote a more aggressive cancer phenotype. Fructose has become ubiquitous in our food supply, with the highest consumers being teens and young adults. Therefore, understanding the potential health con …
I have researched these topics extensively. Bring it. I WILL BURY YOU
Even if you accept their claims about fructose, that wouldn't make HFCS significantly different from sucrose (table sugar). Meaning I'm right. If you think fructose makes people fat, stop eating fruit.
