The median monthly income in Russia is just $450 and 55% of that money, on average, is spent just on food. Most 3rd world peasants make more than this. With decent policies they could get food prices way down and incomes in the $1000 a month range in just a few years but they are to blind and ignorant to bother with good policy.

I guess as long as you have the dictator controlling the media and telling people they should be happy than that is all that matters. Even the unemployed people get 3-4 times that income per month in America.
