Russia is a nuclear state (I was tempted to say global superpower, but they're more regional now... lol russtroll), not an insurgency.
To us, it is the BEAST.

I refer back to my accusation of you being illiterate. Ukraine would be the insurgency in this scenario, not Russia.
If there is no sound in space, how come you can hear the lasers?

You said "fighting insurgencies" not something like "conducting insurgent operations".

        Learn how to communicate, nitwit.

And no, I wouldn't listen to Oerdin with regards to such matters.

Yeah, what's totally useless about this is that in 10-20 years you'll have the same scenario, only backed by an even more fanatically anti-western population.

obviously, Russia would see just how awesome America is and would never hold a grudge

the Russian people are weak and would accept that defeat easily

it's not like they'd ever try to cause problems again

because america is awesome and freedom

We should just all just be really, really sarcastic to Russia until they stop taking Ukrainian land.

Putin is a rational actor, a greedy corrupt and dictatorial one, but still rational. He would not risk nuclear war over a regional conflict especially one he started.

Obama is seeing things my way or at least he says that is what he wants to do if Putin continues his aggression and refuses to agree to a real peace deal. A carrot and a stick is what is needed here.

I've got no problems with how Obama is handling this.

It's odd to see HC caterwauling about Obama and Merkel, saying you have the right idea, but then seeing you say Obama is doing the right thing.

Apparently a Ukrainian artillery unit attacked a compound where a bunch of those Russian aid trucks were parked.

If this ends up with a peace deal that doesn't result in Russia controlling Donetsk I won't criticize. And if he gives them arms, I'll say better late than never. But I think we're gonna have to give them arms, and we should have been doing so for a while.
