It's not rent, it's "maintenance fees". You can't neglect to pay for the maintenance of your "property". I believe that they could take me to court.

Yet more evidence of the importance of not listening to your wife or children - I feel vindicated

One thing I've noticed is that if you go to the same resort year after year you never see the same salesmen two years in a row. The annual turnover in personnel seems to be 100%. My guess is that the sales force is paid by commission and that the strain of having to come up with an unending stream of lies and of torturing dozens of customers every week takes its toll.

My mother has a timeshare, but she doesn't have to pay the fees if she doesn't use it (she does need to let the company know at least a month in advance if she wants to use it, though).

Or they make enough in one year to buy a real condo

btw Doc, the Latin for your sig line is "Caedite eos. Novit enim Dominus qui sunt eius".

It was my motto in Afghanistan - but it sounds so much nicer in Latin.

I loved the moose cavalry so much I spontaneously jizzed myself and fell asleep. That's why I didn't thank it or respond.

Since he was French, and speaking to French troops, wouldn't he have spoken the phrase in French?

The gent was a priest, the second part is quoting Paul's letter to Timothy from the Latin bible - "God will know His own".

Yes, but the people who he was speaking to weren't priests so they would have asked him to speak French.
