  • Actually letting baltics in turned what US thought would be a cornering of Russia to an excellent russian geostrategic advantage.
In a breath Lithuania and the rest would be engulfed and of course NATO is in no way capable of reacting.
That would indeed be the start of a cold war #2.

I don't think that "humanity" (sic) wouldn't survive.
Just Europe/Russia and the US turn to radioactive waste.
There's plenty more humanity to go round. Africa, Asia, Latin America.
Unless a nuclear winter engulfs the whole planet?

      • fallout and the winter that follows. Seems plausible.

Except we'll have those Mars settlers on that reality show wondering what the crap happened, right?

        • To tell you the truth I'm more concerned about how a senator is able to go on TV from morning to night in one show after the other (like I'm seeing now on TV )
(and "talks" (squirls) with a shrieking voice)

No it'd be the start of hot war III followed most likely closely by nuclear war I. NATO has to defend the sovereignty of member states, it has too much riding on it not to.

            • BTW Finland and Sweden made Belarus sound pro-american during the cold war.

              • Then it really says something that they've managed to swap sides so quickly doesn't it.

Do you have any basis for assuming US was thinking in these terms, or is it your rabid KKE antiamericanism showing?

Same could be said of the North German Plain in CW1. Weser in three days? Not unless you bomb the hell out of the follow-up echelons.

                  • What side swap??
The one that ocasinaly makes some noise is Poland.

Even merkel switches to talking in russian with putin when she's bored.

If I want to listen to the ISIS equivalant broadcast channel, I turn to BBC to "learn" about Ukraine.
The comedy value is great because it's unintented.
Kind of listening to oerdin "classification of peoples' worthiness" that's right out of hitler's little book

That's right. I think in some baltic countries there was a petition to make communism illegal.
(in its death throws the EU managed to block that one)

                        Which senator?

If you're talking about the US Sunday morning talk show circuit, they prerecord them I think.
If there is no sound in space, how come you can hear the lasers?

                        • it's a greek senator.
if you want to get a concussion these days you switch on the TV. the level of debate is infantile, there's shouting and of course only the least worthwile people make it on TV (they raise the number of viewers by their caricature characters).
It's like being on the last days of pompeii if you watch the news.
                          It's very tiresome

Sure they might wanted to, but I think that there was a pact for them not to.
You think wrong. There was never any "pact". There is no Russian sphere of influence.

3-4 inconsistencies right off the bat.
Interesting though that NATO felt the need to address these issues.

                              • Putin's propaganda network caught lying yet again. They claimed the evil Ukrainians had killed a 10 year old girl only the girl never existed and the whole thing was completely made up for propaganda purposes. To compare Russian artillery is still shelling civilian areas and is still killing actual people.
