    • Why russian liberal opposition is insane:

Two polls. Same issue. Opposite results. Russia should get out of Syria because of terror act against our plane. France shouldn't get out Syria because of a terror act in France. Logic! And these guys want to rule our country instead of Putin. Fat chance in hell.

Polls are easily manipulated based upon how a question is asked, what leads up to the question, and who is selected to take the poll. You are clowns for not knowing this.

IIRC USA has run current account deficits since independence. They're not much poorer than Russia, quite the opposite.

Poroshenko signs into law measure to grant citizenship to foreigners defending Ukraine

Changes to Law on Ukrainian Citizenship considered to be 'in the public interest'

President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko has signed into law a measure to grant Ukrainian citizenship to foreigners who protect and defend the territorial integrity, sovereignty and independence of Ukraine.

The head of the state made the move in response to the e-petition "to grant the Ukrainian citizenship to foreigners who protected and defended Ukraine in a war zone," posted on his official website.
                    .
A number of foreigners, who were selected for Ukraine's key official posts, have already obtained the Ukrainian citizenship - US citizen of Ukrainian origin Natalie Jaresko (current Ministry of Finance), Lithuanian Aivaras Abromavicius (current Ministry of Economy), Georgian-born Ekaterina Zguladze (First Deputy Interior Minister), Former Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili (current Odesa governor) and some others.

Ukrainian lawmakers also adopted a draft law legalizing the service of foreigners in the Ukrainian armed forces on October 6.

I guess they do not have enough people from their 40M population to participate either in the government or the war...
They don't have enough CLEAN, uncorrupted people to make painful but necessary reforms to break away from the Soviet past. You have no idea how many relics of the soviet system were still in place in Ukraine. The bolshevik loons on Poly are obviously dismayed its dismantlement, but pay no heed.

                    • On the contrary the US is supporting the few "nazis" that do its binding (pushing Ukraine out of Russia) and they are all incompetent when it comes to run a country. Competence is not a measure of selection for public office in Ukraine.
And that's exactly why it fails.

What would you know, commie Greek? What is your track record of fantastic success? Perhaps it's time to assess real vs advertised performance, huh? Or is that too bourgeois/fascist a concept?

Trick question. The answer is "all of them".

It all depends on growth rates. Yes, a current account deficit minuses from the growth rate but it also tends to improve efficiency. Therefor it is not a terrible thing as long as growth is high enough.

Russia is poor because Russians are stupid.
