  • I think they lead in the polls with even more than Syriza did before getting to power.
Keep calling everyone stupid you're left with no pailla and no gyro, no sangria and no ouzo. A sad state of affairs.

My only question is what italy's stylistic statement would be.
We have syriza - no ties. podemos - no shirts, they have to think of something

      • They came from Paiktis's and are Syriza's own estimates! Which will, no doubt, be huge under counts compared to the actual costs.

Lastly, you pendant, 10 x 20 = 200 so there is your plural. Math is good for you, learn it. They want perminent major spending increases so, yes, it is going to add up to major amounts of money which, if history is any guide, they can't pay for.

        • paiktis said 12 billion (and said he wasn't sure about it), 5 posts before yours for goodness sake. is it really so hard to admit that you engaged in a bit of exaggeration?

          • Nope, it is true. They are planning some pretty massive new spending without anyway to pay for it nor any plan other than the EU should just give it to us. This really will amount to big money which they can't even come close to affording.

I'm sure these increases will only last 1 year or so.....

                  • I'm in the mood for some more analysis so bear with me?

Oerdin you're like a tax accountant just like Schauble. (never mind he cheated quite generously in financing his own party)
And you know what they say? germans never lie unless they believe the lie.

                    Let me elaborate.

You can say that syriza promised the sun and the mood and didn't deliver. You can say it did a sommersault and negated its promises.

What the showdown proved though is much more interesting. A political union in europe will NEVER happen. The first steps for the total abandonment has already started and unless something happens the route is irreversible.

Italy and France, with old europe socialist parties (not new europe ones, like syriza) backed the position of lessening austerity with everything they had.
The whole europe has realized that it does not want to unify because this means unifying under a german europe.
The european institutions dont work anymore. it's a lender borrower relationship. Noone wants that. It will continue to show. europe was created to negate the machiavelian might makes right.
Negate on that - no europe. Stay tuned.

Lithuania's prime minister said why should i pay for you when the minimum wage here is 300 euros?
                    The answer will be forthcoming.

Lastly, you're super cute when you talk about pensions staying stable and how much this will cost when RAF escorts russian bombers out of its airspace
                    Myopic, at best.

It's a brave new world my friend and you keep eating your cheeseburger and think it's foi gras

your theologican devotion to free markets will come crushing down like a tomahawk on a taliban's turban.

saucble is the arcitect of the financial unification between east and west germany.
let's bypass that he has no institutional legitimacy to enforce it, but since he is trying to do that, he believes greece is like a failed soviet democracy.
his financial unification of east germany failed in the first place, nomatter his foggy paralelisms.

the battle is against racism, right wing authoritatism, and of course free markets dictatorship.

Poverty in Germany is at it's highest since German reunification in 1990, according to a new study. Some 12.5 million Germans are now classified as poor.

and let's be clear. the EU was made for two things and two things only.
To prevent a WW3 and to try and emancipate europe from US and USSR.

That is emancipation. Not collaboration, not eurounification, nothing.
the EU is long dead and burried.

(plus I want a fashion statement from sin fein too, because apparently it's joining the club)

                    • Almost all discussions on Greece ignore the fact that currency = credit.

That is, all currency in circulation is created as credit.

This means that debt is necessarily bound to be permanent. Permanent debt means the probability of default over the course of decades approaches 1. This is true of any country, regardless of mismanagement or corruption.

                              • A great many knowledgeable people, like former federal Reserve chairman Alan Greenspan, have repeatedly said the Euro is not sustainable in the long term and will fall apart just like every other multinational currency union and for the same reasons. Each country has its own laws, it's own government spending levels, and the good actors eventually began to resent how the bad actors are harming them and costing them money. This is what is happening with Germany and Greece right now.

Once the other PIIGS also try to become self irresponsible welfare queens who demand endless amounts of money then the game will be over. The tax payers in the responsible northern European countries won't allow their national wealth to be squandered on lazy, indolent, stubborn southerners who refuse to do the right and necissary economic things. So it will eventually all break down.

One thing is for certain and that is Greece and the other PIIGS are going to be much worse off after they no longer have a sugar daddy to bail them out of their self created messes. You'll start missing the old man who gives you money even if he was mean and made you act like a grown up.
