  • also it was quite disheartening to see the reaction in the turksish greek football match.
it's not that they booed and sweared during the national anthem (that's always a gauge of jealousy/nationalism and there was lots it seems) it was the rythmical chanting of the name of the killers in paris during the one minute silence tribute.
we're talking like 30 years regression in turkey
quite a different atmosphere than in the english/french match

"Ask yourself: If that was Denver, Col., if that was Texas, would those guys have been able to spend hours, days, shooting people randomly?" Noble said, referring to states with pro-gun traditions. "What I'm saying is it makes police around the world question their views on gun control. It makes citizens question their views on gun control. You have to ask yourself, 'Is an armed citizenry more necessary now than it was in the past with an evolving threat of terrorism?' This is something that has to be discussed."

"For me it's a profound question," he continued. "People are quick to say 'gun control, people shouldn't be armed,' etc., etc. I think they have to ask themselves: 'Where would you have wanted to be? In a city where there was gun control and no citizens armed if you're in a Westgate mall, or in a place like Denver or Texas?'"

            • and also, importing a US style gun culture with its attendant violence and deaths on the off chance that someone might, but probably wouldn't be able to, stop or prevent a terrorist attack, would be a 'cure' far worse than the disease.

The booing, swearing, and chanting of terrorist names during the moment of silence really is a problem. The Turks are the supposedly moderate muslims yet many of them are openly cheering for terrorists. I think that shows just how tainted Islam really is.

Football hooligans are representative of their countries and religions.

It also would have made things easier for the terrorists, to get their guns.
Instead of smuggling their weapons over the Balkans and germany (where one of their transporters was caught by german police) to france, they would just have had to buy them in the next weapons shop (where they, if it were america, probably would have gotten much better weapons than AK-47 ... especially considering that for IS, money probably isn´t a big problem). This perhaps might have allowed IS to not only equip 3 terrorist groups with weapons but maybe 4, 5 or even more groups.

                            Not at all.
Many people from many countries and many different creeds have celebrated many instances of islamic terrorism against various targets.

It just means that the turks are pissed at the europeans for some reason (and since we were there they thought they'd express their feelings on that occasion)

also what giblets said about hooligans being the golden youth of every country
(and, yes, it is disgusting especially since some weeks before the turks themselves experiened terrorism. well... ok they weren't REALLY turks you know... just a bunch of leftists and kurds)

                              • The phrase that has gone viral in french social media:

"It's not my job to forgive the terrorists. That's God's job. My job is to send them to Him"

                                Vladimir Putin

Actually he didn't say it but a french guy saw it somewhere and copied it and then it got viral

What he did say, that he will get them in airports and in airplanes and in the toilets of airplanes, something like that

                                also
